Franke Olympus Tap Valve – What You Need to Know
The Franke Olympus Tap was in production from October 2002 to March 2019 before being replaced by the Franke Krios. During this period, the internal valve underwent several updates, leading to potential challenges when replacing it. Here’s a quick guide to help you when ordering a replacement valve for your Olympus Tap.
Why We Supply Valve 4276R
The replacement valve we offer for all Franke Olympus tap models is part number 4276R. This genuine replacement part comes directly from the manufacturer that supplied Franke during the Olympus tap’s original production run.
Earlier versions of the valve were labeled S1022 / S1023 or 1427R and often featured a white seal underneath. Later models updated to 3561R/SP3561. The 4276R valve we supply comes with a thicker base seal (in either black or white) to ensure compatibility across all production years of the Olympus tap.
How to Identify the Hot and Cold Valves
- Hot Valve: Opens clockwise and has small notches on the brass nut.
- Cold Valve: Opens anti-clockwise with no notches on the nut.
Other Franke Olympus Tap Models Using This Valve
The 4276R valve is compatible with the following Olympus tap models:
-
- Franke Olympus Tap (2002–2019)
- Franke Olympus Spring Tap
- Franke Olympus G
- Franke Olympus S
- Franke Olympus Side Spray
- Franke FilterFlow Olympus
Note: The earlier Triflow Olympus uses different valves.
What If the Valve Looks Different?
If your old valve looks slightly different, don’t be concerned. The 4276R valve is designed to work with all the internal design changes, including those introduced in 2014. Even if your valve is stamped 1427R, S1022, or 3561R, the 4276R remains the correct replacement.
Important: Check the Brass Bush
Some Franke Olympus taps use a brass bush — a ring that sits inside the tap body surrounding the valve. If this bush becomes stuck to the old valve, it can make the valve appear wider than it actually is.
The most common version is SP3868 [with a recess]. Some early models used SP3886 [with a lip] instead. We supply both options. However, we do NOT provide the earliest bush that came with a very thin lip.
If you are getting a plumber to do the work, we recommend ordering a brass bush as well. Any unused items can be returned, but please ensure you order one bush per valve. If you need bushes for two valves, make sure to add two to your cart.
Still Unsure About Your Tap’s Age?
No need to worry about identifying the exact year your tap was manufactured. With the 4276R valve, we provide an enhanced seal that fits all versions of the Olympus tap, regardless of the original valve.
