If your Franke Zurich kitchen tap is dripping from the spout, handle or where the spout meets the base, you don’t need a full tap replacement. The cause is almost always a worn ceramic valve or O-ring—and both can be easily fixed with genuine Franke parts.
Irish supplier • 40+ years’ experience. We supply only genuine Franke tap spares and deliver nationwide via DPD to all 32 counties in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
Where Is Your Zurich Tap Dripping From?
- Spout or handle drip: Replace one or both ceramic valves (and sometimes the brass bush ring).
- Leak at spout base: Usually worn O-rings on the spout.
Most customers only need a new valve. If the drip persists, the brass bush may also require replacement.
See our step-by-step guide: 7 Easy Steps to Replace a Kitchen Tap Valve.
Which Franke Zurich Valve Do You Have?
Important: Franke changed from the 1212R valve to the 3819R valve around 2013. Remove your existing valve to confirm which you have before ordering.
If you can’t check, order the 1212R version first. If your tap turns out to use the later 3819R design, the older valve may not seal properly.
Genuine Franke Zurich Valve Options

Does the Brass Bush Come Out with the Valve?
Sometimes when removing your Zurich valve, the brass bush ring stays attached. You must either separate and reuse it or replace it before fitting the new valve.
Tip: If the bush won’t separate cleanly—or it’s damaged—replace it with the
Genuine Franke Brass Bush 3408R.

Dripping at the Base of the Spout

Filter Tap Versions of the Zurich
The Zurich Filter Tap uses a different Cold Diverter Cartridge but follows the same repair steps as the standard model.
See our Franke FilterFlow Zurich Spare Parts below.
The manufacturers changed HOT VALVE c.2013 from 1212R valve to SP3819 valve. Either of these valves will fit in your Tap. They might look different (the earlier 1212R has two threads and the later 3819R has one thread but they actually measure the same where it counts to fit & work in your tap i.e. 20 splines, same overall height, lower thread the same etc).
If you want to order the exact same as your own Tap, then check your installation guide or remove your own valve before ordering and compare to the pictures.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to identify which valve is inside first?
Yes. Around 2013 Franke changed from the 1212R to the 3819R valve. Remove and check before ordering.
Can I replace the valve myself?
